Remit
The Department of Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy (SMC) is part of the Ministry of State. It reports directly to the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Media and Connectivity and supports, since its establishment in 1991, the development of the media sector and new information and communications technologies.

Introduction of a draft law to grant journalists access to information and to promote professional journalism and democratic debate
A legal right of access to information will be introduced to facilitate the work of professional journalists, as part of a wider reform aimed at promoting democratic debate and press freedom in Luxembourg.

Disruptions to several government websites (2)
Following a DDoS (distributed denial of service) cyber attack aimed at preventing access to several Luxembourg websites, a crisis unit was convened in the afternoon, chaired by the Minister for Digitalisation, Stéphanie Obertin.
